MTNOnline Scholarship Categories
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS)
Since 2010, MTN has offered this scholarship to qualifying 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education). If they retain the required grades, 300 successful students are offered scholarships worth ₦200,000.00 per year until graduation.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be studying at any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
- The applicant must be studying Science & Technology-related courses in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions.
- The scholarship application is open to students who have passed their second-semester 200-level examinations and are proceeding to the 300 level, as well as students who are already in the 300 level.
- STEM Students in Public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second-class upper credit)
- STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
- Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into the 300-level/3rd year of a Public University.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS)
Launched in 2012, the scholarship is intended for eligible 200- and 300-level blind students enrolled in any degree at Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education). Sixty successful blind students are awarded ₦200,000.00 in scholarships each year till graduation, provided they maintain the minimum grades.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be studying at any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
- The scholarship is open to blind students studying any course at any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution
- Applicants must be 200- and 300-level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5-year course, only 300-level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
- Blind Students in Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
- Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
Top 10 UTME Scholarship
Every year, the top ten UTME scorers, as declared by JAMB automatically qualify for the top ten UTME scholarships. If they retain the required grades, successful candidates are offered scholarships worth ₦200,000.00 from their 100 level to graduation.
