The Nedbank YES Program is a business-led government collaboration to reduce unemployment by allowing youngsters to learn new skills and obtain valuable industry experience, which will considerably increase their prospects of finding long-term future employment.
About the Nedbank YES Program
Nedbank is dedicated to generating job opportunities for young people, developing communities, and improving South Africa.
Since 2019, Nedbank has been a proud partner of the Youth Employment Services (YES) project, demonstrating Nedbank’s commitment to creating jobs for the country’s jobless youth and driving a more sustainable and inclusive country.
So far, Nedbank has been the largest contributor among South African banks to engage in this large-scale project and has helped over 5 000 South African youngsters gain skills to enter the job market or become entrepreneurs.
How Does YES Program Work?
Nedbank YES students will be hired for a period of 12 months to get valuable work experience. The YES Program is not a traineeship, internship, or apprenticeship.
The Nedbank quality work experience program will be based at various Nedbank sites, branches, and offices across the country, with some positions allowing for a hybrid or remote work style.
Nedbank YES students may be needed to work weekdays or on a shift schedule (which may include weekends and public holidays), depending on the division, role, and job demand. This requires YES students to be able to commute to and from the Nedbank workplace.
Is the YES Program Paid?
The Nedbank YES applicants will receive a stipend every month throughout the program’s duration.
