The Standard Bank Group Bursary provides financial assistance to help you study, obtain an undergraduate or postgraduate certificate, and realize your goals, whatever they may be.
What Does the Bursary Program Cover?
The Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund covers:
- Full tuition cost
- Textbooks
- Accommodation
- Medical aid
- Living allowance
- Laptop
- Mentoring and psychological support
If you need support for your first, second, third, or final year of undergraduate study, as well as postgraduate courses up to Master’s level, the Standard Bank Group Bursary is available.
Who is Eligible for the Bursary Fund?
To qualify for the scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have achieved an average of 65% and above in the latest examinations (mid-year or June).
- Be registered for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
- Meet the admission requirements of your university if you are applying for a postgraduate bursary.
- You must be well-rounded academically, with a strong performance in any of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Actuarial science
- Analytics
- Commerce
- Computer and data science
- Economics
- Engineering
- Finance
- Information technology
- Investments
- Mathematics
- Statistics.
Note: The Bursary Fund considers financial need.

- Certified copy of ID
- Proof of all academic results to date (Gr 12 certificate and full tertiary academic record)
- Proof of combined household income
