Music Programmer | Music Strategy (EMEA)

Spotify is seeking a Junior Music Programmer to join the Strategic Programming team. You will identify, assess, and help implement new business growth prospects related to our instrumental & wellness product. You will collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues from all around the world, across numerous time zones. Also, you have a strong interest in performance analytics and competitive analysis. Above all, your efforts will influence how people worldwide perceive music.

Job Description

You will:

  • Identifying growth opportunities and development areas across the playlist portfolio
  • Assist in optimizing aspects of the playlist portfolio Participate in weekly brainstorms, strategy discussions, and content workshops
  • Track and report progress toward consumption targets
  • Carry out weekly trend analysis, present weekly findings to stakeholders
  • Suggest short-term actions and initiate growth projects
  • Gather research findings, communicating key takeaways and long-term innovation opportunities

Requirements

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Music, or Business and planning to graduate in 2023
  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
  • Have a music background or experience working in the music industry
  • Organized, process-driven strategic thinker with an understanding of planning and budgeting
  • Ability to learn new concepts, technologies, and businesses quickly and to produce quality work in short time-frames
  • Passion and deep understanding of technology and music spaces
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and are comfortable with ambiguity

Web Engineer | Freemium Mission (US)

The Freemium R&D team oversees the whole user journey on Spotify and ensures that they engage with users in novel ways at every stage of the route. The team expands Spotify’s audience by identifying potential listeners around the world and providing them with the appropriate value at the right moment. They are able to quickly create important products and services for millions of people across the globe because of the collaboration of research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing in one organization, resulting in happy, long-lasting interactions with Spotify.

Job Description

You will:

  • Work across the entire web stack, with modern web technologies (Typescript, GraphQL, Node.js, React, and Next.js) and cloud platforms (GKE)
  • Build top-of-funnel user experiences to drive MAU and organic traffic
  • Work with data scientists, user researchers, designers, and other engineers to build A/B tests that influence the future of Spotify
  • Work in an environment that supports your individual learning and growth through mentorship and coaching

Requirements

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a boot camp certification in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field of study
  • You have a graduation date of 2023 or 2024
  • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
  • Have experience building user-friendly, data-rich JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications
  • You have some knowledge of React and/or TypeScript
  • Follow current and emerging trends of the web platform
  • You have experience with modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging, and automation techniques
  • You are interested in web technologies, exploring data, user experience, design, and music
  • Can tell us about projects you’ve worked on that have involved your frontend or web work
  • You have analytical and problem-solving skills and can communicate your idea
