BMO Capital Markets LimeConnect Equity Through Education Scholarship

The Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship from BMO Capital Markets can support you in accomplishing great things. As a partner in the BMO Capital Markets Equity Through Education program, Lime Connect is happy to offer scholarships to students with disabilities. Equity Through Education was established in 2005 to assist people in realizing their ambitions by providing them with the chance to grow personally through education.

How Much is the Scholarship Award?

Qualified applicants will receive 10,000 USD (for U.S. students) or 5,000 CAD (for Canadian students). They must use the scholarship award to cover tuition, books, supplies, and other educational expenses.

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

• The applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at a four-year university in the United States or Canada (the length of the graduate program, for example, in business school, may vary).
• Must be admitted to or staying at a university as a full-time student in the fall of 2023 and returning in the fall of 2024 with a minimum 40% course load.
• Studying business/commerce, computer science, engineering, math, physics, statistics, or a related field.
• Interested in a career in financial services, preferably concentrating on the capital markets
• A person with a (visible or non-visible) disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a long-term or recurring issue that impacts one or more major activities that others may consider to be a daily function) is unable to perform one or more of these activities normally. 
• Previous BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education scholars and applicants can apply if they still qualify.

What Documents Do I Need to Provide?

1. A letter of reference from a professor, advisor, supervisor, etc.
2. A current copy of your resume or CV.
3. Academic transcripts
4. An essay describing your financial services career aspirations and explain why you think you should be chosen as a BMO Capital Markets Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholar.

When is the Scholarship Deadline?

Applications for the Equity Through Education Scholarship close in April.

Google Lime Scholarship

Google’s educational initiatives and scholarship programs aim to help students become the leaders of tomorrow by getting rid of the things that stop them from pursuing careers in computing and technology. As part of their commitment, they have joined forces with Lime Connect, a nonprofit that helps students with disabilities get an education and good jobs, to help college students with disabilities reach their academic goals in computer science.

How Much is the Google Lime Scholarship?

For the next academic session, qualified students will receive:

• 10,000 USD (for those studying in the US) or 
• 5,000 CAD (for those studying in Canada) 

Note: Scholarship recipients must use the scholarship award to cover tuition and other compulsory education expenses.

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

You must meet the eligibility requirements to qualify for the Google/Lime Connect Scholarship. To qualify, applicants must: 

• Have, or believe they have, a disability, visible or invisible
• Be enrolled in a university as an undergraduate or graduate student for the current school year 
• Plan to enroll in a university full-time in the United States or Canada for the next academic year
• Maintain a high level of performance in school
• Exhibit leadership qualities and a love of technology while obtaining a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Not Eligible

• If you are a previous Google Lime scholar, you are not eligible to apply.
• Current high school students are ineligible. 

What Documents Do I Need to Provide?

To complete your application, you must submit the following documents:

1. A letter of reference from a professor, instructor, adviser, or supervisor
2. Resume or CV
3. Academic transcripts from your current and previous institutions (if you have earned a previous degree)
4. Three short essays showing your passion for computer science.

Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship for High School Seniors

Lime Connect is dedicated to assisting high school students with disabilities because they greatly believe in their potential. They introduced their first Pathways Scholarship in 2019, which is intended for incoming high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree at a four-year institution in either the United States or Canada.

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship?

• Have, or believe they have a physical or mental disabilities
• They must be current high school seniors graduating this spring or summer in the United States or Canada
• Accepted or applying to a 4-year college or university in the United States or Canada for the next academic year
• Intends to attend full-time in the 4-year institution in the fall.

What Documents Do I Need to Provide?

1. A current resume or CV
2. An essay question related to living successfully with a disability.

When is the Scholarship Deadline?

Applications for the Lime Connect Pathways Scholarship close in early June.
