What is the Dell Scholarship Program?

The Dell Scholars program is a scholarship and college completion program that helps people get a college degree and gives them the tools they need to succeed. Since the program began in 2004, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation has given money to more than 5,000 scholars, including more than 2,000 college graduates.

How Much is the Dell Scholarship Worth?

The Dell Scholars Program offers up to $20,000 to eligible students.

The Dell scholarship program is designed to be flexible so that students can use the money for all of the different costs that come up during college. Scholarship grants can be used to pay for undergraduate tuition, fees, and the full cost of attendance, as well as graduate school, loan repayment, study abroad costs, and internship stipends.

Who is Eligible for the Dell Scholarship Program?

To qualify for Dell Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Prove that you need financial help.
  2. Have a minimum GPA of 2.4.
  3. Enroll in a program-approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12
  4. Be on pace to complete high school in the current academic year at a recognized institution.
  5. Qualify for a Federal Pell Grant during your first year of college
  6. Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university in the fall after your high school graduation to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

What are the Required Documents?

Semifinalists must submit the following documents:

  1. An online recommendation
  2. A recent copy of your  high school grades
  3. A complete Student Aid Report (SAR) from their FAFSA

How to Apply

The first step in applying for a scholarship through the Dell Scholars program is filling out the online application. All of the entries will be looked over, and a group of semifinalists will be chosen. Semifinalists must send in a recent copy of their high school transcript, an online recommendation, and a complete Student Aid Report (SAR) from their FAFSA. An impartial selection committee reviews all information following the submission of the semifinalist information.

When is the Dell Scholarship Deadline?

The Dell Scholars Program application opens in October and closes in December. Applicants must endeavor to apply before the scholarship closing date. 

Dell Scholars Connect

For Dell Scholars to communicate with one another and the foundation, there is a private website called Dell Scholars Connect. Access to this website is restricted to people who have received the scholarship.
