Advance Practice Nurse and Physician Assistant Scholarship
As more Americans live longer and fewer primary care doctors are available, the need for well-trained nurse practitioners and physician assistants will only grow. They are happy to help future family nurse practitioners and physician assistants by giving scholarships through the CVS Health Foundation to colleges of nursing and schools for physician assistants across the country. One method the CVS Foundation uses to lessen the effects of the persistent primary care physician shortage in the United States is through its scholarship programs for Physician Assistants (PA) and Advance Practice Nurses (APN).
What are the Scholarship Requirements?
- The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) must have granted full accreditation status to institutions in the United States and Puerto Rico before they can apply.
- 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service are welcome to apply.
- To confirm that your institution still qualifies as a public charity, you must submit a copy of the IRS Determination Letter each year.
- Students enrolled in an accredited nurse practitioner, or physician assistant school are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Application Process
- The CVS Health Foundation only accepts online applications.
- Only one application per organization will be considered for the CVS Health Foundation Advance Practice Nurse and Physician Assistant Scholarship per year.
- If requested, organizations will receive an email to confirm their application receipt. For a receipt, enter your email address and click “yes,” which it asks you to do on the application.
When is the Scholarship Application Date?
The Advanced Practice Nurse and Physician Assistant Scholarship application period starts in August and ends in October.
Children of Colleagues Scholarship
Children of full-time employees can apply for a scholarship through the CVS Health Foundation program for colleagues’ children at a two- or four-year college or university. The initiative, paid for by the CVS Health Foundation, has helped many students reach their goal of staying in school.
CVS Health Foundation Pharmacy Scholarship
The healthcare community’s most approachable and reliable individuals are pharmacists. The need for these highly skilled experts is only anticipated to grow as more Americans live longer and take more medications. The CVS Health Foundation awards scholarships to pharmacy schools across the nation and is happy to help the brightest future pharmacists.
Scholarships are given to students through the institution’s internal scholarship program; funds are given directly to accredited schools.
