Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
As part of its investment in the next generation of STEM talent, Lockheed Martin introduced the STEM Scholarship Program in 2018. All students, especially those from diverse backgrounds and communities that have historically been underrepresented in STEM professions, will have access to pathways through education and into the STEM workforce.
Scholarship Amount
The STEM Scholarship Program gives out $10,000 annually to 200 students who are enrolled in 4-year colleges or universities and are studying engineering or computer science. The scholarship may be renewed up to three times, with a maximum possible value of $40,000 per student.
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
- A senior in high school with a GPA of 2.5 or higher OR a first- or second-year undergraduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- The applicant must demonstrate financial need
- Regardless of any other circumstances, the applicant must have an interest in a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of college.
- Current or upcoming full-time enrollment in an authorized four-year college or university in the United States.
- Enrolment in the following majors for a 4-year degree currently or in the future:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mathematics
- Mechanical Engineering
- Physics
Lockheed Martin Vocational Scholarship
Lockheed Martin introduced the Vocational Scholarship program in January 2020 to assist students of all ages in pursuing skills-based education in engineering, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors. A significant part of Lockheed Martin’s involvement in education and workforce development is the Vocational Scholarship Program.
Scholarship Amount
Up to 150 candidates will receive scholarships worth up to $5,000 under Lockheed Martin’s vocational scholarship program.
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
- Either be a senior in high school or a recent graduate (or GED equivalent).
- Have not graduated with a bachelor’s degree before the academic year prior to your registration.
- Be enrolled or intend to enroll part- or full-time in a vocational-technical school, trade school, two-year community college, or state college, all of which are approved schools.
- Be pursuing an associate’s degree, credit-bearing certificate, or an industry-recognized credential, in one of the fields of study below, with an anticipated completion date no earlier than December 2022 and no later than June 2025.
- Enrolment in the following field of study:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Computer & Information Sciences
- Engineering
- Engineering Technologies
- Mechanic & Repair Technologies

Selection Process
- Scholarship America decides who gets the award. No executive or employee of Lockheed Martin is ever involved in the selection process. All candidates concur to accept the judgment as final.
- Academic performance, leadership qualities and involvement in extracurricular activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational aims and objectives, atypical personal or family situations, and an outside evaluation are all taken into account when choosing scholarship recipients.
- Candidates attending or intending to attend one of Lockheed Martin’s priority institutions will receive preference. Attendance at one of the prioritized colleges is not an eligibility criterion.
- Women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities (as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act), first-generation college students, active duty service members in the armed forces, including those in the reserves and the national guard, veterans of the armed forces, including those in the reserves and the national guard, and spouses of active duty service members will all receive additional consideration.
When is the Application Period?
Applications for the Lockheed Martin scholarship open in January. Applicants should apply early before the scholarship’s closing date.
