What is the UPLIFT Scholarship?

The UPLIFT Scholarship honors the accomplishments of independent school children from low-income households who have excelled academically or in certain talent areas.

Singaporean children enrolled in independent schools who have excelled academically or in certain talent areas are given annual cash rewards of $800.

Is the UPLIFT Scholarship Open for Application?

The UPLIFT Scholarship is open to all applicants who wish to apply. To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet certain eligibility criteria. When the school determines that your child qualifies for the scholarship, it will give them the grant.

What Does the Scholarship Cover?

The MOE scholarship pays a stipend amount of $800. Your child will receive this money if they are admitted through DSA for the length of their term of study, commencing from their enrollment year in the institution. They will receive the award for the duration of their ESIS award, starting with the year they receive it.

Who is Eligible for the UPLIFT Scholarship?

To qualify for UPLIFT, the student must:

  • Either be qualified for the Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools (ESIS) or Direct School Admissions (DSA) for admission to an independent school, or both.
  • Be from families who qualify for 100% fee support under the Independent School Bursary and have a monthly gross household income of $2,750 or less, or a monthly per capita income of $690 or less (ISB).

How to Apply for the UPLIFT Scholarship

There is no online application process for the scholarship. If your child is receiving 100% fee assistance through the ISB, they will immediately receive an award.

You can submit an application through your child’s school if they have not yet submitted an ISB application. Before you apply,  ensure they meet the requirements for the Ministry of Education’s Scholarship. Your child will receive both the ISB and UPLIFT Scholarships if the school determines that they are qualified.

How to Renew the UPLIFT Scholarship

To keep getting the Scholarship:

  • your child must make academic progress and behave well to move on to the next level.
  • And, your family makes a minimum of $4,000 per month in gross household income or $1,000 per month in per capita income.
