What is the Singapore-Industry Scholarship?
The Singapore-Industry scholarship is the first multi-industry scholarship in collaboration with the Singapore Government that provides scholarships to Singaporean citizens at various points during their local and international university studies.
The SgIS participants come from a variety of businesses and place a strong emphasis on talent development. Through internships and career development, they work together to strengthen the essential skills and abilities of the next generation of leaders.
The sponsoring organizations offer different frameworks and development programs, some of which are more extensive than others.
As an SgIS scholar, you will be given the chance to take part in at least one internship program with your sponsoring company.

The Singapore Industry scholarship is available to applicants who wish to apply. To begin your application, adhere to the instructions provided below.
Singapore-Industry Scholarship Types
The Singapore-Industry scholarships come in three schemes:
SgIS Full-Term Scholarship
The SgIS Full-Term is open to Singapore citizens who are set to begin their full-time local undergraduate education.
What does it cover?
- Full tuition fees and approved academic charges.
- Allowance for living expenses
- Hostel accommodation fees
- Overseas exchange program
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Singapore Industry full-term scholarship, the applicant must have:
- Been admitted or looking for admission to a local university for a full-time undergraduate degree, excluding healthcare-related disciplines.
- Good GCE A-Level certification, Polytechnic Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma, or NUS High School Diploma.
- Good co-curricular activities (CCA) records and leadership achievements.
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors.
SgIS Mid-Term Scholarship (Local)
The SgIS Mid-Term is open to Singapore citizens who are presently enrolled in full-time local undergraduate studies (Local).
What does it cover?
- If you have 1 – 2 academic years remaining, you will receive SGD 30,000.
- If you have 2 academic years or more remaining, you will receive SGD 50,000.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Singapore Industry mid-term (local) scholarship, the applicant must have:
- completed at least 1 academic semester in a local university (NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD) and are not in their final year of study.
- Good co-curricular activities (CCA) records and leadership achievements.
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors.
- Good undergraduate results.
SgIS Mid-Term Scholarship (Overseas)
The SgIS Mid-Term (Overseas) scholarship is available to Singapore nationals who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies at an international university.
What does it cover?
- If you have 1 – 2 academic years remaining, you will receive SGD 40,000.
- If you have 2 academic years or more remaining, you will receive SGD 60,000.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Singapore Industry mid-term (overseas) scholarship, the applicant must have:
- Completed at least 1 academic semester in an overseas university and are not in their final year of study.
- Good co-curricular activities (CCA) records and leadership achievements.
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors.
- Good undergraduate results.

How to Apply for the Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS)?
- Go to the Ministry of education’s portal.
- Go to Financial Matters.
- Select Scholarships and Awards.
- Click on SgIS.
- Choose the scheme you want to apply for.
- Go How to Apply.
- Choose either Full-Term or Mid-Term.
- Fill out the application form.
When is the Scholarship Closing Date?
The Singapore Industrial Scholarship application opens on January 1 and closes on March 21.
Note: Applicants must apply before the closing date. The portal will not accept applications after the closing deadline.
