Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools

What is the Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools?

Top-performing Singaporean students can receive up to $2,400 in annual scholarships at independent schools in Singapore through the Edusave scholarship program.

These awards are available to independent school students who excel in school. The maximum annual reward amount for the ESIS is $2,400.

Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools List

These awards for Pre-University 1, Secondary 1, Secondary 3, and every year:

ESIS Yearly Award

Based on their performance on the year’s school examinations, students in the top 10% of their cohort who exhibit good behavior will receive an ESIS. At the start of the following academic year, students will receive information through the schools about their ESIS award.

Students who have already received other forms of ESIS are ineligible.

ESIS for Secondary 1

Only the top third of applicants to independent schools based on PSLE performance will receive this scholarship.

The ESIS is available to students who meet the ESIS cut-off score and have admission into independent schools through the Direct School Admission Exercise.

Qualified students will receive the award for:

  • 4 years, if they are in the O-Level program.
  • 6 years, if they are in the 6-year program.

ESIS for Secondary 3

Students who qualify or are shortlisted for the ESIS test may apply after Secondary 2. 

ESIS (Secondary 1) award recipients from the past are ineligible.

Qualified students will receive the award for:

  • 2 years, if they are in the O-Level program.
  • 4 years, if they are in the 6-year program.

ESIS for Pre-University 1

At the conclusion of Secondary 4, students in the six-year program will be shortlisted or nominated to sit the ESIS exam. Along with their O-Level exam results, students in the O-Level program will also be notified of their eligibility.

Students who have already received the Secondary 1 ESIS for six years or the Secondary 3 ESIS for four years are ineligible.

Qualified students will receive the award for 2 years.

Qualified students in the 6-year program are students who:

  • Have not sat for the O-Level examinations.
  • Have not sat for the ESIS test at Secondary 3.
  • Performed well in the ESIS test in Pre-University 1.

Eligible students in the 6-year program are students who:

  • Are within the top 5% of all students who sat for the O-Level examinations based on L1R5 scores before any bonus points.
  • Meet the ESIS cut-off score and are admitted to an independent school under the Direct School Admission for junior colleges (DSA-JC) are also awarded.

Who is Eligible for the Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools?

  1. The scholarship is only available to Singaporean students. The applicant must be a Singaporean citizen or permanent resident.
  2. The applicant must be an excellent student.
